The discrete sample data base consists of analytical results from samples collected from locations at a specific, or discrete time. Field measurements are taken at the time water and sediment samples are collected for laboratory analysis of physical and chemical characteristics. Sample collections are made on a routine basis (typically monthly) at a series of core sites. Additional stations are visited and samples collected less frequently during intensive sampling efforts called synoptic studies. Data from discrete samples are organized by year.
Data are subject to revision.
